My Approach to Therapy
I always start with and prioritize our relationship in our work together. Taking the time to get to know you, understand your experiences and empower your choices is important to me. I will often integrate psychoeducation around your symptoms so you can have greater awareness outside of sessions. I also utilize therapeutic approaches to support your goals using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Restoration Therapy and EMDR. I enjoy getting creative in our therapy work and will often invite metaphors, imagery, art and play into our processing when it feels like we are stuck.
What It's Like to Work Together
I desire for you to feel seen, supported and empowered during sessions. I value the client relationship and will emphasize your voice so therapy can meet your needs. I bring my knowledge and experience to support progress toward your goals but always leave room for personable conversation and humor. I hope our therapy space feels like a safe support while you're struggling and a strength for you to keep moving forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?
I offer both options to find what is both accessible and comfortable for you.
Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider so we do not take insurance directly. I can always offer you a superbill after payment for any reimbursement or out-of-network benefits you might have with your coverage.
What does a first session look like for a youth client?
When I work with kids and teens, I will start the first session with the client and their family support in the room together. It gives me a chance to meet everyone, share a bit about the therapy process, and assess the history and present concerns. I will have individual time with the kid/teen to build our relationship and assess without the family in the room. We then end all back together so we can make a plan moving forward about goals, what sessions will look like and how much family is involved.
What makes specialized therapy for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors different?
BFRBs can be difficult to understand and hard to manage. Most options out there are behavior-focused which can lead to more frustration and add to shame when it feels like it's not working. I integrate a blend of evidence-based approaches for BFRB therapy to tailor tools and support for your specific patterns: Comprehensive Behavioral Treatment helps us track your patterns with a holistic understanding of influences and reinforcements, Habit Reversal Training and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy helps us find tools for regulation and build distress tolerance, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps us address the shame and practice self-compassion.
